Conn Bacach O'Neill (c.1482 - c.1559):
Conn O'Neill was inaugurated chief of the Tyrone O'Neills in 1519. He attacked the Pale, and his lands were ravaged three times in reprisal. In 1537 he attacked Ardglass, but when he went to London he was given the title of Earl of Tyrone by Henry VIII, which made him unpopular in Ulster. He died in the Pale.
