William Homes was born in the north of Ireland and went to New England, where he was a school teacher for three years. When he returned to Ireland in 1692 he was ordained a Presbyterian minister at Strabane. In 1714 he once again went to New England and had a parish in Chilmark. He published his sermons, Sabbath, Secret Prayer and Church Government.
