Charlie Gallagher was a dentist and played gaelic football for County Cavan. In 1964, 1967 and 1969 he won Ulster Senior Football Championship medals. He won four Railway Cup medals with Ulster in 1964, 1965, 1966 when he captained the team, and 1968. He is the only Cavan man to score the `ton up' in one season in 1964. In 1965 and 1967 he was also the country's leading football marksman. He was selected for the the `Team of the Century' side for football players who had never won an All-Ireland medal. He died in a drowning accident.
