George Francis Savage Armstrong (c.1845 - 1906): |
George Savage Armstrong was born in County Down, and was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. He produced two volumes on the history of his mother's family, the Savages of the Ards peninsula. He was Professor of History and Literature in Queen's College, Cork. He wrote a satire, Mephistopheles in Broadcloth (1888), much poetry, a biography of his brother Edmund, and Stories of Wicklow (1886).
