William Creagh (1828 - 1901):

William Creagh was born in Newry, County Down, and joined the Bombay Infantry in 1845. He served through the Indian Mutiny and the Second Afghan War. He became a major-general in 1879 and was renowned for his part in building two hundred miles of military roads in India.
