William Archer Butcher (1814 - 1848):

William Butler was born in Clonmel, County Tipperary, and was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he became Professor of Moral Philosophy. He was appointed Rector of Raymochey, County Donegal, and devoted much energy to alleviating the suffering of the famine victims. Among his works are sermons and lectures which were published posthumously. He was a friend of William Wordsworth. He died in County Donegal.
