Seamus Stoupe was born in Belfast and educated at the Belfast Model School. In 1904 he was Modelling Master at the Belfast School of Art, and remained until 1938. He was a sculptor and a painter. He was President of the Ulster Arts Club and a member of the Belfast Art Society. He exhibited in Belfast and Dublin, and his self-portrait is in the Ulster Museum.
