Robert Stevenson (1866 - 1960):
Rugby player


Robert Stevenson was educated at the Royal School, Dungannon, County Tyrone. He was a linen manufacturer and became an international rugby player, who played for Dungannon and Lisburn. During the period between 1887 and 1893, he was capped for Ireland fourteen times. In 1912-13 he was President of the Irish Rugby Football Union. His brother also won two international caps for Ireland, in 1888 against the Maoris, and in 1889 against Scotland.
