John Ramsy was born at Carnkirk near Bushmills, County Antrim. He became Minister of the Ballymoney Reformed Presbyterian Church. At Niagara Falls he saved the life of a woman by climbing down the girders of the suspension bridge 160 feet above the water and bringing her to safety. `
