Alfred S. Moore was the editor of Nomad's Weekly, a magazine which ran from 1899 until 1914. It satirised politicians, churchmen, trade union officials, councillors and businessmen. It pressed for social reform, for example shorter hours for shop assistants, and at the height of its popularity it claimed a readership of 40,000.
