James Bryce Killen (1845 - 1916):
Lawyer and journalist
James Killen was born in Kells, County Antrim, and was educated at Queen's College, Belfast where he studied law. He was called to the Bar in 1869. With Michael Davitt he founded the Land League in Mayo in 1879 and was later arrested. In Belfast he edited the Northern Star, subsequently working as a journalist in Dublin.
