Evory Kennedy (1806 - 1886):

Evory Kennedy was born in Carndonagh, County Donegal, and was educated in Derry, Dublin and Edinburgh, London and Paris. He settled in Dublin as an obstetrician and established a large medical practice. He was appointed Master of the Rotunda Hospital in 1833 and in 1839 was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. From 1853 to 1854 he was President of the College of Surgeons. When he had retired from medicine he became Deputy Lieutenant for County Dublin. He was stood unsuccessfully as a parliamentary candidate in support of Home Rule for County Donegal in 1874. He died in London.
