Sir Andrew Francis Barnard (1773 - 1855):

Andrew Barnard was born in Fahan, County Donegal. In 1794 he joined the army and fought in Canada, the West Indies, the Peninsular War and was wounded at Waterloo. He became a General, and susequently Governor of Chelsea Hospital, and was knighted.
