Edward John Hardy (1849 - 1920):

Edward Hardy was born in County Armagh and was educated at Portora Royal School, Enniskillen, and at Trinity College, Dublin. He was awarded a gold medal for his studies and was ordained in 1874. As an army chaplain from 1878 to 1908 he served in many countries. His first book was translated into various languages and though he wrote many works, How To Be Happy Though Married is the only one for which he is remembered. He died in Blackrock, County Dublin.
