Robert Hugh Hanley Baird (1855 - 1934):

Robert Baird was born in Belfast and was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. In 1869 he was an apprentice compositor and a year later worked for the Belfast Telegraph, which had been founded by his father. He had sole control of this newspaper from 1886 and established many other papers. He was a Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant and was knighted in 1921.
