Dorothea Gage was born in County Antrim. In 1864 she went on a visit to Baden Baden, where she met His Serene Highness Albrecht, Prince of Warbeck and Pyrmonte (part of Prussia). He followed her back to Rathlin, and in 1864 they were married in the Chapel Royal, Dublin Castle. In 1867, Queen Victoria created her Countess von Roden. She died in Heidelberg.
