William Huffington Findlater (1824 - 1906):

William Findlater was born into a Derry family. In 1846 he became a solicitor and was twice President of the Incorporated Law Society. For forty-four years he was a member of the council of the society and served as Chairman of the Solicitors' Benevolent Society for twenty-three years. He was chairman of Findlater's Mountjoy Brewery until it was sold in 1891. He presented to the National Library an autographed letter from Robert Burns which had been sent to a member of his family.
