William Cusack Smith (1766 - 1836): |
William Cusack Smith was born in Dublin and was educated at Eton and Oxford. In 1788 he was called to the Bar and seven years later was appointed King's Counsel. He was a member of parliament for Donegal Borough. He was founder of The Flapper in 1796. In 1800 he was appointed Solicitor-General and within a year became Baron of the Exchequer. In 1834 his conduct as a judge was debated in parliament. Among his publications were poems and pamphlets.
