Patrick Curtis (1740 - 1832):

Patrick Curtis was educated at Salamanca and was head of the Irish College there for forty years. Because of his knowledge of Spain, he was able to assist Wellington during the Peninsular War and was arrested as a spy by the French. He returned to Ireland in 1813 and was given a warm recommendation by Wellington. In 1819 he was appointed Archbishop of Armagh.
