William Howard Campbell (1859 - 1910):
Missionary and entomoligist


William Campbell was born and educated in Derry and graduated from Edinburgh University in 1880. He was ordained and went to India, as a missionary where he became an authority on the Telugu language. He wrote a grammar and three other works in this language. He was also an entomologist and discovered approximately sixty new species of moths.
