Hugh Robinson (1845 - 1890):
Hugh Robinson was born in Belfast and was educated at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution, after which he served his apprenticeship with a firm of wholesale drapers. He was a founder member of Belfast Naturalists' Field Club, acted as an Honorary Secretary for eleven years and was President from 1887 to 1889. His presidental address on the progress of science in Belfast was republished after his death. He was Secretary of the Belfast School of Art and Registrar of the Academical Institution.
