John Bruce Richard O'Neill (1780 - 1855):
John O'Neill was born in Drumgallon, County Monaghan. In 1857 he emigrated to America. He served throughout the Civil War with the Federal army. He joined the Fenians. With fifteen hundred men he crossed the Niagara into Canada and captured Fort Erie. He was imprisoned, and on his release he returned to the United States. He died in Omaha.
