Peader O Doirnin was born in Tipperary and moved to Drumcree, County Armagh. He was tutor to Arthur Brownlow's children in Lurgan, after which he was a schoolmaster at Forkill, County Armagh. He wrote nature poems, political verses and humorous verse. Some of his manuscripts are in the Cambridge University Library.
