Barnabas O'Brien ( - 1657):
Barnabas O'Brien,was member of parliament for Coleraine in 1613. In 1639 he became 6th Earl of Thomond and in 1640, Lord Lieutenant of Clare, a position which he held for one year. In the rebellion he relinquished Bunratty Castle and fled to England. He was made Marquis of Billing and compensated for his losses by King Charles.
