Fynes Moryson (c.1566 - 1630):

Fynes Moryson was educated at Peterhouse College, Cambridge, and in 1589 obtained a licence to travel. He visited, among other places, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Italy, France, the Holy Land, and Constaninople. In 1600 he came to Ireland as Chief Secretary to Sir Charles Blount. He helped to suppress Tyrone's Rebellion, and published an account of his travels and a history of Tyrone's rebellion in 1617.
