James Magee was a printer and bookseller in Belfast. He was the most prolific supplier in Ulster of popular literature, mainly in the form of chapbooks, during the eighteenth century. In 1736 he was in partnership with J. Potts and S. Wilson, but by 1744 was printing on his own account in Bridge Street, Belfast, where he remained in business until he retired in 1790.
