Gerald O'Donovan (1871 - 1942):

Gerald O'Donovan was born in County Down and was educated in Cork, Galway and Sligo. After having attended Maynooth, he was ordained for the diocese of Clonfert. He was involved with the Gaelic League and the co-operative movement. He left the priesthood and went to London where he became a businessman and a novelist. His publications include Father Ralph; How They Did It and Vocations. His work was admired by Frank O'Connor. He died in Surrey.
